Pura Pasar Agung is the temple on the other side of the mount Agung from the Besakih temple (Mother Temple).

Besakih is the Mother of the Temples of Bali the overflow in the hills of the Mount Agung feels Pure Besakih, referred extensively like the “Center of All temple” of the Hinduism in Bali. Pure Besakih, or the temple of Besakih in English, is greatest temple in Bali 11,000 or so Hindu temples, their 35 chapels and corridors draw throughout to devotee of Bali in massive numbers every year. Gunung Agung (Mount Agung) is the highest mountain on the small Indonesian island of Bali.

Gunung Agung last erupted in 1963-64.

Climbing Mount Agung is the amazing trek. Puri Agung Inn is located about 3-4 hours from peak of the Mount Agung via Pasar Agung temple. Trekking Package Mount Agung can be arranged upon request.

The best time to go there is to be at the peak for sunrise, which is at 6:00 – 6:30 (depends on the part of the year). And because at the top is very cold (around 4°C) and strong wind (around 60 km/h) we suggest you to well calculate the time when start you trip to prevent of the long waiting for sunrise.

When you will climb up during the night we suggest you to take the head-lamp, warm cloths (long trausers, T-Shirt, jumper and wind-proof jacket with hood or cap), good trekking shoes, 1,5 litters of drinking watter and some breakfast.

The best way to the peak is from the parking by the Pura Pasar Agung, from where it’s just only 3 kilometers of distance, around 1400 meters of elevation and around 2 – 4 hours to get there. You can take the local guide.
